There are many actors who haven't won an Oscar. For 95 percent of the acting population, there is probably a good reason they haven't taken home one of film's most prestigious honors. Only two actors per year can win either the Best Actor or Best Supporting Actor Oscars, leaving eight other nominees with nothing. And all of the other actors in the biz out in the cold.
But does the Academy always get it right? There are plenty of actors who haven't won an Oscar despite the fact that they’ve turned in amazing performances. Whether it’s due to stellar competition, bad luck, or an out-and-out snub, some artists have never gotten the recognition they deserve.
Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are all big draws at the box office who haven't received the same respect of the Academy that they have from audiences. While they've all been nominated for Oscars, they've never taken home the big prize.

Color makes the Man
While David Tennant rocked those purple suits with aplomb, he didn't quite go all the way. Al the way back to his first appearance Kilgrave AKA The Purple Man has had purple skin. We see hints of this in the last episode of the series when Purple Man tries to use his augmented powers to stop jessica Jones.
Her best Friend is Captain Marvel not Trish Walker.
Nobody wants to see Hellcat brought to life on the show more than me, but in the comics Patsy (Trish) Walker wasn't Jessica's best friend. Instead she chummed around with the cosmic powered 'Captain Marvel.' The change was made because Marvel (the studio) has plans to use Captain Marvel (the character) in her own feature film down the line.
Kilgrave is a former spy from Croatia
In the television version of Jessica Jones we hear Kilgrave speaking in a British accent. When we learn his origin it is revealed he got his powers as a child from his parents performing experiments on him back in the U.K However in the comic book he's actually a Croatian born physician turned spy who gains his powers during a secret mission to a chemical factory.
Kilgrave isn't the big bad of the comic
Kilgrave appears in every episode of Jessica Jones and him and his effect on her life and the lives of those around her are the main driving force behind the show. However in the comic book Kilgrave and Jessica's past was just that... the past. While he was responsible for her turning away from the hero life and becoming an investigator he only ever appeared in a handful of issues during the series 3 year run.
From Kill to Kil
This is one of the strangest stylistic choices to have made in the transition from comic to small screen. But I'm not going to argue aesthetics with someone who created the best super hero show of all time, clearly her instincts were on point. The choice in question was dropping Kilgraves first name 'Zebidiah' and then dropping the second L from his last name "Killgrave."
Don't call me Kilgrave
Everyone's favorite villain to hate was David Tennant's Kilgrave. He was equal parts vicious and stylish but did you know that his personal penchant for dressing in purple reveal his true origins? See, in the comic book Kilgrave is better known as the villain "Purple Man." The powers and stylish purple suits are the same but he prefers a more ridiculous and less mall goth pseudonym.
Jessica Jones went to high school with Peter Parker
Even though the comic didn't show up until a few decades after Spider-Man the Alias comic retconned Jessica Jones into having been a former class mate of one Peter Parker AKA Spider-man. In fact as the story goes Jessica was crushing on Peter and was present the day he was bit by the radioactive spider.

While TV Jessica Jones can't be bothered to use their proper names while discussing the Avengers during her post coitus burrito with Luke Cage, comic book Jessica Jones logged a lot of hours as an ally to Marvels Uber group, fighting with (and sometimes agianst) them on several occasions.
AKA Alias
Jessica Jones may be the name of the character but Alias is the name of the comic. Who knows why they went with change? Maybe the producers were trying to stay down wind from the old TV show 'Alias.' Another action soap opera about a strong willed woman.
Purple Man doesn't rape Jessica
Jessica Jones is a survivors story, made all the more poignant by the particularly wicked crime that Kilgrave perpetrated upon Jessica. His use and treatment of Jessica in the comics was less of a crime but no less despicable.
