Celebrity Arrests 2013: Celebrities Arrested in 2013
Which celebrity arrests in 2013 were the most scandalous? As the year unfolded, the inevitable happened: The rich and famous started getting locked up. Think of this list as a timeline, because it details who did what to whom. Details will be added as they become available, including exactly what the celeb did to get hauled in by the police. Who will get taken into custody next?

Celebrities sometimes do bad things, but unlike most of us, they typically don't get punished in the same way. Most of the time these (temporary) jail birds wind up paying a nominal fine and they walk. Occasionally, though, a famous person might step so far out of line that they will indeed face jail time or, at the very least, be sentenced to some community service. They might also get a probation officer, who'll tear his/her hair out trying to keep track of all the things the celeb may (or may not) be up to.

Stay tuned, because if 2012 was any indication, celebrity arrests in 2013 promise to be interesting. Need proof? Check out the list of celebrities arrested in 2012 and in 2011. It's always interesting and never ever boring!

Adam Jones
NFL player Adam "Pac-Man" Jones is no stranger to legal problems, and he was arrested on assault charges in June of 2013. According to reports, the Cincinnati Bengals cornerback allegedly struck a woman outside a Cincy nightspot. Jones, who was taken into custody on June 10, 2013, reportedly got into a "verbal altercation" outside the FB's bar.

For his part, Jones claims he's innocent and was acting in self-defense. How so? A surveillance video shows the alleged victim, Shannon Wesley, pouring beer on Jones - who claims she "might have thrown a beer bottle at his head."
Amanda Bynes
Given her bizarre behavior in 2013, is it any wonder that headlines in late-May read "Amanda Bynes Bong Tossing Arrest?" No, no it isn't, but that's exactly what happened. Police in New York City took Bynes into custody on charges of marijuana possession and reckless endangerment. She allegedly also threw some of the evidence out of her apartment window. What evidence? A bong, that she allegedly threw out of the 36th floor window!

On Friday, May 24, 2013, a wig-wearing Amanda Bynes appeared in court to answer charges. During the brief hearing, Bynes' attorney claimed his client didn't toss the bong and added that "police illegally followed" Bynes into her home. Another court hearing was set for July, and Bynes was released from custody.

In the days following her arrest, Amanda Bynes claimed she was groped by police - a claim that the NYPD denies. Specifically, Bynes claimed on Twitter that the police officer who took her into custody "slapped her vagina."

Chad Ochocinco
Former NFL player Chad Ochocinco was arrested in Florida on May 20, 2013, on charges stemming from his domestic violence arrest involving ex-wife Evelyn Lozada. According to reports, a judge issued a warrant for Ochocinco, aka Chad Johnson, because of a probation violation related to the 2012 arrest. What happened? Apparently, Chad failed to report to his probation officer (twice) and he never showed proof that he'd enrolled in a domestic violence education class (part of the deal stemming from his 2012 conviction).

Chad Johnson's legal troubles continued in June of 2013, when he was arrested and jailed on a probation violation stemming from his domestic violence case with ex-wife Evelyn Lozada. During a hearing, Johnson angered the judge in the case with his antics, which included "playfully slapping" his male attorney's posterior during the proceedings.Chad Johnson was quickly reprimanded by the judge in the case, who dismissed a deal Johnson struck to keep him out of the slammer. He was immediately arrested and order to serve 30 days behind bars. Johnson was booked into jail in Broward County, Florida, the next day.

Dylan Patton
Actor Dylan Michael Patton, who starred on the TV soap 'Days of Our Lives' as Will Horton back in 2009 and 2010, was arrested on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home in Agoura Hills, California. He was formally charged on May 16 with cocaine possession. According to reports, police in L.A. believe Patton was "selling cocaine out of his home." He could get up to nine years behind bars, if he's convicted.
Erin Brockovich
Erin Brockovich was arrested in June of 2013 for DUI. According to reports, the 52-year-old Brockovich was taken into custody on June 7, 2013, for DUI whle driving a boat. It happened in Nevada, where officials say a warden observed Brockovich trying to dock her boat.

Technically, Brockovich was charged with "OUI" (operating under the influence). She posted bail and later issued an apology - but not before taking one of the worst mugshots ever.
Jeff Garlin
Actor Jeff Garlin, who stars on the HBO comedy 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' was arrested on Saturday, June 15, 2013, and taken to jail on felony vandalism charges. What happened? One report indicates that Garlin was arrested after "breaking car windows" during a "heated argument" (gee, you think?!) over...a parking spot.

And no, before you ask, this was not part of filming for a 'Curb' episode. This really happened. The 51-year-old Garlin was released from jail the day after his arrest.
Maurice Jones-Drew
NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew was the center of attention when, in late-May of 2013, reports surfaced that he allegedly punched a security guard *hard* in the face at a swanky St. Augustine, Florida, nightclub/restaurant. According to reports, Jones-Drew's friend got into an altercation with a guard at the hot spot and then supposedly "slapped" him - and that's when all hell broke loose. Headlocks were involved, and the 28-year-old MJD (a Jacksonville Jaguars player) supposedly knocked out the guard, who was hospitalized with "contusions and a bone bruise."

Interestingly enough, just hours after reports of the MJD incident surfaced, police issued a statement saying Maurice Jones-Drew was NOT charged in the case, which was still under investigation.

Pia Zadora
Actress Pia Zadora was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery charges and coercion after an altercation at her house in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, June 1, 2013. What happened? Initial arrest details were sketchy, but within hours, TMZ reported that Zadora was taken into custody because she allegedly tried to choke her 16-year-old son, Jordan, because "he refused to go to bed at a timely hour." She also allegedly attacked her stepson, when he tried to intervene in the argument.

The 61-year-old Zadora was booked several hours after officers were first called to her home. She was released after posting $4 thousand dollars bail.
2 Chainz
Rapper 2 Chainz was arrested on drug possession charges at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on June 11, 2013. According to reports, TSA agents found marijuana and Promethazine in his checked bags. The discovery prompted officials to yank 2 Chainz (aka Tauheed Epps) off his flight and arrested him. Promethazine, by the way, is a key ingredient in "Sizzurp." The day before he was busted, 2 Chainz posted a Vine video clip that purportedly shows the Sizzurp session in action.
Jacqueline Walters Danforth
Jacqueline Walters Danforth, the daughter of Barbara Walters, was arrested on DUI charges on May 19, 2013, in Naples, Florida. Police there pulled Danforth over in the early morning hours because she was pulled over on the roadside. When authorities tried to handcuff her passenger, Danforth reportedly began yelling at officers. She was taken into custody and released hours later. In the past, Danforth has struggled with drugs (particularly as a young person).
