Frontera Movie Quotes
"Frontera" movie quotes tell the story of a former sheriff who seeks out to find out who killed his wife. The western drama was written and directed by Michael Berry in his feature film writing and directing debut. "Fontera" opened in theaters in the United States on September 5, 2014.

In "Frontera," Miguel Ramirez (Michael Peña) leaves his pregnant wife Paulina (Eva Longoria) in Mexico while he travels on foot to the United States in search of a better life for their family. Just over the border in Arizona, Miguel, along with a man he's traveling with, meets Livy (Amy Madigan), who was out of a horseback ride on her ranch. Moments later, someone fires a rifle which spooks her horse, sending her crashing to the rocks below, killing her.

When Livy's husband, former sheriff Roy (Ed Harris), hears the shots, he immediately heads to the area and begins an unofficial investigation into the killing. But when current Sheriff Randall Hunt (Aden Young) arrests Miguel for the crime, Roy isn't so sure they've nabbed the right guy and his following investigation leads him to surprising conclusions.

"Frontera" brings some serious subject matter to theaters already packed with lighter titles such as "The Identical," "The November Man," "The Congress," "Life of Crime," "Starred Up," "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," "If I Stay," "When the Game Stands Tall," "Are You Here," "The Expendables 3," "Let's Be Cops," "Life After Beth," "Frank," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," "The Hundred-Foot Journey "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Get On Up," "Hercules," "Lucy," "Magic in the Moonlight."

We Got Our Guy
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "How many times you and I stood here and watched these boys lie through they teeth? We got our guy."
Roy: "I don't know."

Sheriff Randal Hunt is sure that they've got the right man for the crime, that their suspect is just lying. Roy isn't so sure about either.
I Want to Talk to Ramirez
Roy: "I want to talk to Ramirez."
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "I can't allow that. That man is the prime suspect."
Roy: "I know better than anybody that there is a lot of things you can't do as sheriff but letting me talk to Ramirez ain't one of them."

Roy, as a former sheriff, requests a meeting with the prime suspect in his wife's death. He eventually gets his wish but it doesn't come easily.
There Were Shots
Roy: "That's not the guy I saw."
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "You're sure?"
Roy: "Yeah, I'm sure."
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "Well then, there may have been two."
Roy: "Why you say that?"
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "Well we picked them up in a stolen truck and one of the things we found in the truck was this. You recognize this?"
Roy: "Yeah"
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "As soon as we told him what happened, he started talking really fast."
Roy: "You told him?"
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "It was that he and another guy that he was traveling with met up with a woman on a horse and he gave them that blanket. He says that somebody was shooting at him and the lady fell off her horse and hit her head."
Roy: "That's a bunch of bulls***."
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "I know, I'm just telling you what the man said, keeping you in the loop like I promised."
Roy: "Should have shot that son of a bitch when I had the chance."
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "I saw that you had a firearm on you when we got there. Were you shooting at them, Roy?"
Roy: "No"
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "Are you sure?"
Roy: "Yeah, I'm sure. There were shots."
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "There were shots?"
Roy: "Yeah, rifle shots, that's why I went out there in the first place."
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "Why the hell didn't you tell me that before? That's pretty damn important."
Roy: "I don't know. Hell, Randal, we was…"
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "All right, something else, now our man in there IDed the same man you did in the mugs."
Roy: "He did?"
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "He did."

Roy erupts when he sees a suspect in custody and has to be held back by Sheriff Hunt. In the conversation that follows, Roy shares some very important information about the events that day.
Shooter's Gotta Pay for What They Did
Roy: "The shooter's gotta pay for what they did."

Roy is not certain who killed his wife or why, but he does know that whomever is responsible must pay for the senseless killing.
Why You Always Gotta Ride the Damn Wash?
Roy: "Why you always gotta ride the damn wash?"
Livy: "Cause it's the best trail"
Roy: "That's why we can't keep the damn Mexicans out of it."

Roy tries to talk wife Livy out of taking the horse down on a certain trail but thinking of that as the best trail, she ignores his request. Unfortunately for both of them, it does not end well.
Some Illegals Killed Mrs. McNary
Claire: "Did you hear what happened? Some illegals killed Mrs. McNary. She was riding on her ranch and they tried to steal her horse and they killed her."

When news of Livy's death hits the gossip circles at the local high school, the story changes every time it is told. Typical of high school, a lot of people with no idea what they are talking about are sure doing a lot of talking.
Somebody's Gotta Do Your Job for You
Roy: "Did you already have your boys do a sweep?"
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "Yeah, but they didn't find anything."

Roy: "Maybe you could match some of those up with that body down there. Somebody's gotta do your job for you."

Roy wants some solid evidence that they have the right suspect in his wife's death so he does some old fashioned detective work of his own. He ends up finding what the rest of the sheriff crew missed.
Tell Me That He's Without Blame
Sheriff Randall Hunt: "You can't walk in here and tell me that he's without blame."

Roy isn't sure that it was Miguel who killed his wife but Sheriff Hunt questions him to say whether he thinks Miguel is completely without blame for the death. This forces Roy to question what blame really encompasses.
