Major U.S. Cities with No Major League Teams
This is a list of the largest U.S. cities that do not currently have teams in the following professional leagues: the NFL, the NBA, the NHL, Major League Baseball, or Major League Soccer. Out of the largest 50 cities, 11 currently do not have franchises in the "major" major leagues.

Large cities that are part of a "Metroplex" such as Fort Worth, Mesa, or Long Beach are considered to be represented by the metro-area team (Dallas, Phoenix, LA, etc).  For this list, if a team is named for an entire state (Arizona Diamondbacks or Texas Rangers) it is not considered a city's team if located more than 100 miles away (or if the city is not located in the same state.)  So, for the purposes of this list, the Texas Rangers aren't the city team for El Paso or Austin, but the Colorado Rockies are for Colorado Springs since Denver is only 60 miles away.
