The Saddest Kids at Disneyland
Ranked pictures of kids crying, throwing tantrums or just looking any kind of miserable at Disneyland. The happiest place on earth isn't that happy when you're being forced to do pretty much everything against your will. Think about being a young child and going to Disneyland. It's horrifying. These images you see on your screen and have never quite thought about as real, tangible beings are confronting you with a stiffness, no-blinking, dead-eyed hugeness that can't be anything less than overwhelming. That coupled with how hot it is also can't be that devastating for young kids/toddlers. At every step of the way, these kids are being confronted with the first time that their parents aren't bending over backwards to have them in 100%, complete comfort. No temperature control. Damning sun on their faces, a sunburn forming. Oh and don't even get me started food. You don't have your favorite snacks with you.

Also, LINES. Imagine your first exposure to freakin LINES. What's worse than standing in a line? You take it for granted now, but what if you didn't know that lines existed? And then you had to stand/sit in not only a kind of a long line, but a Disneyland-long line.

Also RIDES. Disneyland rides are probably horrifying. The first time you ever feel G-Force or something higher than your risky, alcoholic uncle tossing you up in the air. Only now you're on what looks like impaled, taxidermied, glossed, dead versions of your heroes/cartoon friends being flown around by a giant robot who will surely do the same thing to you.

Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Goofy -- it doesn't get bigger, as far as celebrities go. Now imagine if they all wanted to talk to you at once. Imagine the social anxiety that goes with meeting a walk-about character as a child who believes that they're real, forget about the fact that it's a version of the character that looks like they've had a stroke.

Also there's soooo much stuff that you want EVERYWHERE as a kid, but can't have because it costs probably a good portion of your parents' paycheck that they spent doing something they don't enjoy.

Disneyland resorts are extremely nice, and Disney parks (despite their ticket prices), are awesome. Teacup rides, Dumbo rides, Pirates of the Caribbean, the spectacle, the show, Tinkerbell walkin around (yet not granting you the power to fly), all make for a great and amazing time -- when you're old enough to not be driven almost literally temporarily insane by the repercussions of all of it being in the same place at the same time.

The park, characters and magic of Disneyland are awesome -- if you're a really young kid that's well past their toddler years. I was taken to Disney really early as a kid and it was one of the worst days of my life.
