The most influential people of 2013 are those top people from around the world in politics, news, sports, entertainment and business, among other categories, who had a major impact during the year. From those who brought us life-changing discoveries to those who simply entertained, all of these people influenced us in one way or another in 2013.
As either one of the most loved or most hated, Edward Snowden sure made a good argument for himself as the most influential person of 2013 after leaking information about the United States NSA spy program. But he wasn't the only one making world news with the likes of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pope Francis and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un all changing the world as we know it in different ways.
On a lighter side, it was hard not to be influenced by the great entertainers that brought us the best television, film and music of the year. Vince Gilligan earned his spot on the list as the mastermind behind "Breaking Bad," whose final season aired in 2013. Jennifer Lawrence made everyone fall in love with her with her film roles. Rapper Macklemore made thrift shops cool again. Will Ferrell brought back Ron Burgundy. Each made us laugh, cry and sometimes cringe, but they all brought us joy.
Others who are well deserving of spots on this list are those who brought us inspiration. The likes of Wendy Davis and Malala Yousafzai, just to name a few, stood up for what they believed in and inspired others to change the world as well.
So who most influenced you in 2013? Be it a politician, business person, entertainment star, athlete, or even someone who influenced the year for the wrong reasons (Aaron Hernandez, we're looking at you), vote for the most influential people of 2013 below!
