What was your favourite decade? Or the one you think 'was' the best? Just to give you a recap of what previous generations were like:
1950s: Birth of Rock N' Roll, Sputnik launched, Nearly every household in the USA and Britain have a TV Set by the end of the decade. Mods, Rockers and Bikers show rebelliousness
1960's: Rock music becomes immensely popular, reaching the genre's peak in the late 60's and early 70's. The British Invasion, Muscle cars become popular in the 1960s and the Jaguar E-Type makes revolution in 1961. The hippy culture was widespread from the latter half of the decade and took drugs such as LSD and Cannabis. Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 and start of Vietnam War in 1967
1970s: Rock music remains very popular with the birth of disco in the late 70's, flares, aviators, bomber jackets, mustaches and perms are just some of the popular fashion back then. The Vietnam war ends in 1973, The Watergate Scandal shows how corrupt the government was. Major revolutionary films are released including The Godfather, Jaws and Star Wars
1980s: Fashion becomes extremely bright coloured with acid wash jeans, usually skinny drainpipe jeans on the punk subculture. Punks and Metal heads are the main sub cultures of this decade. Aviators, perms and mustaches remain popular through the decade. Music takes a drastic change, Rock Music begins to decline, pop music rises with acts like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince and George Michael.
1990s: It becomes fashionable to wear shirts untucked, curtained hair becomes a popular hairstyle in the decade. Rock music has a resurgence in the early 1990s with the grunge scene but fails to keep the momentum. Rap becomes popular, especially in South West USA. End of the Cold War, the Video Games industry booms due to huge technologic advances
